Now I grant you that it might happen between now and midnight. I suppose with the evil persons who want to do this being safely on the other side of the planet, they're going to do this when it's convenient for them to be awake and not necessarily time it for when we are awake. So you've got another 7 hours and a few assorted minutes until the day is passed into history. You know, this doom saying shit is getting to be like wheeling your bets at the dog track. If you put two dollars on every dog to win, and the payoff is better than 12/1, then you might marginally break out ahead. If the payout for a win is on an even money favorite, you will loose most of your 24 dollars for your 12 $2 tickets, even though one of them is a winner and you get maybe 4 to 12 dollars back for that single bet. In this case, however, the payoff would be that a city somewhere in North America would be destroyed. Granted many feel that destroying a few would improve the landscape (did ya ever notice how damned UGLY Houston really is?) But to wish for and repeatedly predict such a horror is getting old! If you need attention that badly, do something constructive! Go figure out how to build an energy sheild that would in fact block the effects of a nucleaer device going off. Or figure out why the US dropped the development of hydrogen bombs. Some said it was because they not only destroy the physical items in the blast range, and the physical bodies of those caught in it, but that it also destroys the very souls of those who are caught in the blast it causes. Imagin, a soul being ripped apart by a bunch of atoms. WEIRD. But the US scientists tested the H Bomb exactly once and went high tailing it back to simple atomic bombs which are much like the ones used in Japan all those years back. BTW: IF YOU HAD ACCURATE AND FACTUAL INFO, what the hell are you posting it here where maybe at most 1000 people will see it. Why aren't you hammering at the doors of CNN, FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS, etc.??? Surely one of them would recognize the credibiity of your info and alert the world before it was too late? Yes, they are greedy, selfish, and controlled by the most powerful people on the planet and they spoonfeed America what those powers wish us to see/hear - most of the time. However, if you were to show up with verifiable credible info regarding the destruction of one major city in the US, do you think for a moment that anyone could maintain them in silence about it? Don't you think one or more of those people would have family or friends in the target zone and would risk their lives to try and warn them in time to get out of there? Men can only be cowered so long. They can only be threatened and intimidated into silence up to a point. And then, when that point is the lives of innocent people being wantonly destroyed, perhaps then they would raise a cry that would be heard round the world. I don't doubt that it could happen. In fact it probably will happen someday. And heaven help us when it does. But in the interim, it's not something to use for attention-seeking and self-agrandizement even if only for a few fleeting moments. Maybe this exercise in democracy is going to come to an end and maybe it's a failure because most of mankind is NOT ready for it. But to see it end in a flash of blue green atomic radiation is a fate that I pray we are spared. America once stood for something grand and good and glorious. Perhaps future historians will record the fact that we tried. More than that we cannot expect. Our lives are miniscule in the general scheme of things. Three score and ten? Hell, it's not even a pimple of the ass of time, and yet it's all we're going to get. So stop the joking and insisting it's all going to be blown to hell tonight or tomorrow or whenever the mood strikes you again. Maybe you cannot remember when this country was striving to be kind, and decent and good. But trust me, it once was and that fact alone will be cause for many tears to be shed if and when it passes into the anals of history - regardless of how it gets there! Now will you please go back on your medication and resist the temptation to tell us it's all going to hell again tonight. While I grant you it may, I doubt that you, any more than any of the rest of us mere mortals, have any idea of exactly when, where, or how that horror is going to happen. So since you have failed to get it right so far, please resist the temptation to gather a little attention by predicting same again. It's boring if nothing else... and reading the imaginary rantings of your mind and seeing your own fears spread across the internet is not a pretty sight for the rest of us. We ARE quite fully stocked with craziness here. We don't need yours, too! |
