Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76561685 Is it maybe because kids go to school and mass murder their classmates?? Is it maybe(Maybe?) because parishioners enter churches and fill their fellow worshipers with bullets??? Maybe because maybe that maniacs sit in high rise rooms and plow innocent people with lead??? And on and on and on. The problem is not the gun knife or a club, it is the derangement of our so called civilized morals. Planet earth and its fucked up inhabitants needs a realtime huge makeover in our fucked up standards that are accepted as norm or without meaning or consequence. It'll never happen. Sinning and evil ways seem more desirable to the masses. GM Yes, they always have and always will, at least until the Second Coming. That’s why the pathway to salvation is narrow, overgrown and little-used, while the path to destruction is broad, open and no doubt well-lit. I’m still calling bullshit on the original story, though. |

It's crazy how zealots have taken over and the level of mind-control programming that has occurred over these past 50 years. Get rid of TV and stay off of Social Media is the best advice out there. Anonymous Coward User ID: 78552248 United States 05/29/2020 11:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A husband and wife in Pennsylvania were harassed by police earlier this month after someone at their son’s school spotted a toy gun during a school-related Zoom call. Quoting: Where Eagles Dare Sheila Perez Smith recounted the incident on the Todd Starnes Radio Show. She said that her 7-year-old son had just completed a Zoom class when she received an email from the son’s teacher. Apparently, another parent had spied the toy in the background and had called the police. “Another parent had been very uncomfortable by the fact that the gun had been in view of the zoom call,” Smith told Starnes. “It’s such an innocent thing that someone used to make a judgment and an accusation.” A few hours later, police knocked on her door and asked Smith and her husband to step outside. When Smith’s husband explained that they didn’t own a real firearm but that their son had been given a toy, the police weren’t satisfied. According to Smith, they lectured the couple and told them that young kids shouldn’t even own toy firearms. “I said, this is a toy. No one is unsafe in our home. Everyone is safe and well and healthy,” Smith said. “They took it very seriously as if there was some sort of chance we had weapons in the home.” “He essentially lectured us on child safety and the fact that our children are too young to interact with any guns and weapons,” she said. Smith told Starnes that even though they weren’t cited, the incident left their children terrified. “They were scared their parents were going to go to jail that day for something that was completely untrue,” she said. “What really troubled me was the fact that someone made a claim, an accusation with zero facts,” she continued. “It was completely bogus, and it left our kids really scared.” [link to www.toddstarnes.com (secure)] DEFINITELY MOST DEFINITELY seek retribution for the narks. Parent can take the approach to deny entry to police and not answer any questions but then they are labeled. Teachers are mandatory reporters but not sure how it works when it is hearsay from another parent or if the teacher needs to SEE it first hand. One time my kid's doctor asked if there were guns in the house and that really pissed me off. Whether there ARE or ARE NOT is none of their business. The doctor was apologetic and claimed the State makes them ask but it was still BS. And this was in NH, the "Live Free or Die" state that is not so free anymore. I see both sides of this because I once had a crackhead tenant who was abusing her baby by not caring for it. We called DCS, the neighbors called DCS, but the crackhead knew how to evade the system and never let them into the apartment. Then I got a call when the baby was found dead and crackhead was sent to jail. Bottom line, when you're on a teleconference, whether video or audio only, don't show or say ANYTHING that can cause a problem. |

That's a win for the teacher and the district. I had a parent earlier stop me when I was out with my dog and ask what my summer plans were before propositioning me to do an end of summer math review for his kids...I'm thinking to myself, if they are focused and disciplined now through distance learning, they won't have a huge drop-off. We're ending the year with geometry (volume and surface area of cylinders, cones, prisms) and some algebra (estimating square roots, rational numbers). I just make sure that when I'm teaching (Zoom or Google classroom) that inappropriate items aren't visible. And since water and vodka are the same color, I get to stay hydrated while I teach, lol...(to any Karens reading this, it's a joke...I don't start drinking until noon; maybe 11). I have kids trying to do online learning without wearing shirts, while driving their cars, while on work breaks, and/or while at the lake on their boat. A toy gun ffs... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43093809 The officer was put in a spot. He had no authority to search the house, so he has a parent against parent for whose word he should take. He has to assume the parent who made the call knows what a gun looks like (many toy guns look like real ones, and that would be even more so if you saw them on-line in the background rather than in person). He opted to err on the side of safety. If there had been a real unsecured gun & a child hurt/killed with it, he would be at fault for not doing something and could be fired or sued. As for the Zoom meetings, I am going to give policies and procedures, laws which will explain why this happened. I am NOT advocating calling police because someone had a toy gun. However, if you are a parent and we go into home schooling again in August, you need to know these things. Zoom school meetings are essentially school functions since hosted by the school. One would have hoped that the school had sent out a warning to parents early on that things like weapons (toy or real), alcohol, drugs, sex toys should not be in view and how the camera should be facing an empty wall and preferably in a quiet area of the house. Lots of people have gotten into trouble or been embarrassed during Zoom meetings (somebody walking behind them naked/in underwear, yelling obscenities, drinking, smoking a bong, etc.) Most parents should be smart enough to figure that out on their own, though. The problem is that many states have mandated reporting laws which require individuals who work around kids to make an immediate report if they see ANYTHING which could be considered dangerous or harmful to a child. The teacher falls into that position and so do many parents, too, with PTO, Scouts, school volunteering, and they have to sign papers and take training before being allowed to work with the kids. So if one of those individuals saw an unsecure gun near a young child (yes, many toys look real), then the chances of being reported are pretty great. In addition, if you have a special needs child, teachers are NOT allowed to hold a meeting with just SPED kids. That is against privacy laws. You can have SPED kids in the meeting, but there have to be regular education students in the meeting as well so as not to point out who has learning issues. Fuck off karen. My parents had unsecure and loaded guns in every room of the house i grew up in. Why? Because after the 68 riots they knew what could happen. Guess what? Im fine. Why? Because back then retards died and people accepted it. And like most people, Im not a retard. |

In my day the ultimate was a Fanner 50, 6 shooter which was a cap pistol and would shoot plastic projectiles. We also played war. One team of Americans and one team of Nazis or Japs (yea I know that is now politically incorrect). I remember having a toy rifle with a rubber bayonet on the end. The older kids would ride around town in a pickup with a real rifle on a rack in the back window. I was 11 years old when I received my first marksmanship awards from the NRA.
