Wanna ride along... don't get on unless you really mean it? There's nothing more intense than riding a CR500, but "rear steering" is an extremely important skill to have if you want to live. Quoting: 2 strokes forever 71179116 The rear end kind of pops out on you on dirt. It is just another balance skill you pick up quick though. You have no idea what I'm talking about. I've had a very built up, over bored CR500 for 20+ years. I'm not talking about losing traction, I'm talking about "squaring off" corners, opening the throttle going faster into a corner not slowing down, I'm talking about throwing the rear end of the bike around to steer. Not using the handlebars to steer so much as to set the back end up, counter steering, keeping the back tire spun up (so you better know your rpms and proper gear selection, you NEVER want to run out of gear and "spin traction" halfway through a corner). There's volumes I can write about "rear steering", but very few people here would care nor understand. Every bit of your reactions better happen within 100's of a second, CR500's are very dangerous, they will kill most riders simply because they have a power to weight ratio that creates deadly havoc much faster than most people's mind can keep up with. |
