Notes from a Liberal

This past week has utterly blown my mind.

Seeing the social media blitz my friends are taking a part in, jumping into an ocean wave of "wokeness" to remain unscathed and cool. I'm shocked, and honestly scared.

Something is controlling society's minds since the beginning of 2020. I don't know if it's esoteric, the media, human nature - but something is slowly strangling nuance, context, and basic human empathy (although they'll use the latter non stop, they know not what it means)

Today I watched Joe Rogan, who I'm a fan of, say that he's watched "100 riot videos" and he saw "4 black people" - the rest being "dopey white kids."

Now I don't care which races are looting - it's shitty and lame and no one should do it - I care about the blatant lie that Rogan chose to tell on air while millions watch. Why would he say this? Even an ANTIF& member wouldn't say this.

Black squares littering my timeline like bottles on the highway. Empty gestures, virtue signaling, mindless saturation.

I know how these people think because I'm sort of one of them. I'm in entertainment. I've lived in NYC and LA. Trust me, these people don't care about this. Where were they 1, 5, 10, 15 years ago if they cared? KONY 2012 was REALLY an eye opener into the docility of these people and their Olympic like talent of mental gymnastics.

I in no way mean this as a flex, but I work around a lot of hip hop people IE black people. I talk with these people. I have dialogue with these people. They're my friends. I know my white friends on social media, and many of them have literally ZERO black friends, but as of last week think they're Nelson Mandela.

I'm tired. I'm sad I can't speak my mind without being decimated on social media. I'm worried for the world.

I want to emphatically state that I love black people. I do believe they have been oppressed and I do believe we can do better. I wouldn't want to be a black guy getting pulled over at 2 AM on a highway.

Police, mostly suck, sure. Do I think they're all demonic? No. I think they have shitty training and are filled with a lot of roided up dudes who were bullied or were bullies in school. Regardless, I refuse to look at ANYONE in black and white.

Between COVID and this, I can't help but think this is a major operation and a controlled demolition of the US.

I miss the 90s.
