And that protest could have erupted at any moment in violence and you 14 year old child would have been fodder for the evil ones.

I believe in the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances as much as I believe in anything. I'd die for that right.

So, my 14 year old daughter is angry and horrified. Her best friend's older sister and friends (high school seniors) were organizing a protest and march.

Off we went - to a neighboring town in Southern New Jersey. I let them do their thing and carried water and sunblock.

It was beautiful.

There had to be over a thousand people. The police chief and EMS chaplain spoke, local leaders, and the kids who organized it.

Then we all marched down the main street. Folks were hugging each other, hugging cops.

Lining the street were a lot white haired white folks, and some had signs saying "it's about time." And "No Justice, No Peace".

Here we are in the most diverse, most densely populated state in the country, and it was a great day. In my opinion, it is precisely because of our diversity - we love our neighbors. I feel sorry for people who live in other states, where any of what happened today might be construed as bad or divisive. It was a great day.

God bless America.

How funny is it that everyone here is calling BLM and the protests racist and anti-white yet there you were in South Jersey surrounded by people of every race imaginable and the only place you're encountering hate is here on GLP.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77461449

In turn, it's funny how some of the people most resentful of certain Minneapolis cops and the case of George Floyd have been uninterested in or apathetic towards - or even subtly approving of - the crooked cops of James Comey and John Brennan. And their crooked enablers of Robert Mueller, Adam Schiff, Rod Rosenstein, Andy McCabe, Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler, etc.

No justice, no peace, indeed.

Nice that you had a nice experience. And I'm sure that was a positive experience. The local ones I've watched on tv were positive too. The problem is that's only part of what's going on..

I'm having a hard time understanding the vandalism, looting, violence and blocking highways (ironically they need police help to make that happen for them.)

And please do Read what BLM is about. It's on their website.

my guess is the young generation will agree they need to be slaves to black and Hispanic people and will be setup that way, after black people take over. Older white generations will fight it, but this might take another 10 years or so. They will be dying off and have no choice. White people will have no rights but to obey their new slave masters.
