Maybe trying removing it all together and reinstalling. Or--- ditch it and move on to Opera, it's better. Offers more widgets/addons and it's more secure. Sigh, I upgraded to Firefox 2.0.0.7. Nothing but troubles. It keeps trying to install itself EVERYDAY, and then cannot finish. Perhaps something is interfering, but I don't think so, since I have successfully installed the new version (if that's a success). Also, we can close it down, and if we try to reopen, it will say it's already running and to close the former process--although nothing is running. We have been logging out and in--not an efficient thing to do, but I don't know where to find 2.0.0.6 (the last stable build, IMHO). Quoting: Anonymous Coward 302463With GLP, I can come in. The first link I open shuts Firefox down and gives me the dratted error reporting screen. Then Microsoft says, "Firefox caused the problem." Yep. Please help. I LOVE firefox--NOT a hater. What can I do to make it work? I'm using IE now out of need. |

I use FireFox 2 0 0 7 on both my running machines one is on Win98SE the other on XP Pro. No problems here. And I have it on my laptop that is running Ubuntu Linux and no problem there either. FireFox is way cool. Used to use Opera but it always had rendering problems. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 132975 ![]() 09/25/2007 02:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.7 and have had zero problems with it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 274005However, I am running it on a very stable Windows 2000 Pro system. Same, except a modified Windows 2k3 here. God forgive me, but I actually LIKE W2K. All round, the best and most reliable OS Microsoft has produced, IMO. WinXP isn't too bad, either. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 228392 ![]() 09/25/2007 02:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Then I found Opera! OMG it is the best browser ever. So many simple things that are like duh, why doesn't everyone do this. Like the zoom function....whoa what a concept zoom the whole fricken page as one entity. Instead of firfox's stupid increase text size function. Oh and what's this...an option for fit page to screen width...what a concept. So you mean I can make everything as big as I please, maintain all the formatting and never have to scroll side to side..Genious! Why doesn't every program do this? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 228392 ![]() 09/25/2007 02:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | your problem is you're using windows! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 297064![]() LOL, touche. It seems to be a common maladie. I am proud to say, of my 6 machines, I have finally wiped the last traces of widows from the last one in June. I have never been happier. Amazing to have puters that just do what their told and don't talk back. |
