Meanwhile, back in Babylon, not all was well in the village. There were issues. They would consort with her in her sorcery only until it was no longer financially feasible. As to the future? It was the great unknown, but everyone was out to save his own skin in the end.

14Behold, they shall be as stubble,
The fire shall burn them;
They shall not deliver themselves
From the power of this flame;
This shall not be a mere coal to be warmed by,
Nor a fire to sit before!
15Thus shall they be to you
With whom you have trafficked,
