T-Man Entitled title User ID: 78270630 Netherlands 06/16/2020 06:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was going though a Jeep I just bought at an auction and I found a thumbdrive.... Quoting: WyatteSmith What should I do? Peak? Just format? Or discard (virus?)) why wouldnt you look? I mean it came with the car. i would 100% look depending on whats on it id see what to do with it. biggest chance is its something unimporant maybe its some homework or vacation pics. you might bring them back and make someone happy. idk. i just dont see why you wouldnt look. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 70394243 United States 06/16/2020 06:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I find it hard to believe someone would randomly place a usb drive in a jeep to give you a virus. Stop being a bitch plug that shit in, I'm sure its just some pictures of the previous owner jeeping, or maybe a resume, or music. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79005781 Cambodia 06/16/2020 06:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Call the auction line and tell them you found inside the Jeep a thump-drive and ask them to call you back if the owner of that thump drive needs it back, if not format it and use it, however you seem to have money so just discard it, throw it to the trash but first destroy it in pieces. |

Louis in Richmond That is my arm now; broken for 7 months User ID: 75569412 United States 06/16/2020 06:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Do not connect it to a computer you intend to use again without reformatting the drive and reinstalling the OS. A security expert I knew scattered a few dozen around an office park and over twenty were plugged into someone's PC revealing their login and credentials. Someone was once stealing items from my Mrs. office. I made one for her to leave on her desk that would email her entire building with "I AM A THIEF + the name of the person" that connected it to their PC. Sadly she never would leave it on her desk. That's too paranoid, no pun intended. :) In any decent computer, with the owner being also decent enough to know the basics, even the most advanced hacker can't do that, it's practically impossible, unless of course if the machine is not decent and the user is not decent with the machine, then everything allegedly can happen but yet again, it's all about common sense. :) |

However, Louis from Richmond, if you post the code that you used, can admit if was wrong previously, after checking it of course, you can put a personal signature inside that only you will know where it is, nothing to worry from this part. Then will just say you were right. :) |
