I once asked a police officer which restaurants were best to grab a lunch in the area. he was very nice, and made a couple suggestions of no touristy places. We chose one; the food was amazing.
... but then I began my request with, "Excuse me, Sir ......"

When they start asking question I act as if I am deaf. Every second spent within gunshot range is lowering your life expectancy. There are good cops and bad cops, I've been around both a lot. Some are kind and want to help and some power trip, its just the nature of the job. You cant paint them all with the same brush, people just want to hate and steriotype everyone. Their minds arent nuanced enough to know everyone is an individual, easier to lump them all together and hate. You have to lump them all together because it is impossible to tell which ones will kill for nothing. Out of three or four of them, one or two will. Think what you want man, they aren't all the same. That Atlanta cop didn't have to chase th dude down and shoot him then kick him in the head and refuse to render aid and just let him bleed out. It may be unpopular, but his actions showed a malice.
