OP, please think of your own safety and health, mental and physical. Think also of the safety of the son.

You cannot help her on your own. You need to request the assistance of her family to step in and get her the medical help she needs. Bring up the son, and his safety too. Have a talk with him.

Ultimately, this relationship is not going to work out. But you are being a good person, and helping her right now.

She has too much free time in her hands, so she has become ocd with the news. She needs to stay active at some sort of work that takes her mind out of it. Limit time on the news and internet. Do something productive that interests her. Good luck.

why dont you redpill her. Or get here to a doctor, or leave if she will not get help. She may hurt you or your son. Are you married?

You said the behavior is new. Is she pregnant? Or could be lack of fresh air, sun light and a good work out, diet, blood sugar, stress, exposed to indoor toxins. Or she got the virus and it messed up her brain?

Re: I need help. I'm dealing with mental illness in my household and don't know what to do.
In my experience, people that don't already hate themselves in a deep way are almost impossible to convince that they are bad. The fact that your girlfriend so easily adopts the narrative that she is bad by default (and she thus needs to virtue signal to others in order to prevent others from realizing it as well) is a clear warning sign of a person that suffers from a lot of self-hatred, a lack of worthiness, a feeling of being a burden on society rather than an asset, etc. Those are the issues that need solving, the BLM nonsense is just a symptom not the problem. Any time spent focusing on BLM will likely be a complete waste and accomplish nothing.

If you can, take her camping or away from tv or internet for awhile. She needs to clear her head.

Nice advise but being a Mother of a white teenager myself I say to you, she is no mother and not worthy of you or her sons love; she will always betray you both, she is not loyal nor does she care about her son's heritage. She's very weak and will turn you and her son in in the future. You are only enabling her by hanging around. It is the teenage boy who needs your love and attention for he is still developing and needs strong guidance esp. from a male
Concentrate your energies on the boy, when she feels the isolation she may re-think things

Re: I need help. I'm dealing with mental illness in my household and don't know what to do.
My gf has lost her mind during this pandemic.

She just put a BLM sign in the back of her car.

In her side window she also put a sign that reads "White silence is white violence".

We live in a nice neighborhood. Its like painting a bullseye on the front of my house.

I made her take them down.

She went to a BLM protest locally. Where some wacko convinced her to believe the phrase "all lives matter" is racist and is a hate term directed at the BLM movement.

I asked her how she thinks this makes her teenage son feel...asking her if she intends to make him feel guilty for having white skin. The question was over her head. She can't understand this concept.

She's vulnerable to propaganda. She's scared to death of the coronavirus. Has barely left the house for 10 weeks. Hasn't worked a minute. I've been working 60 hours a week to get us by.

During the time i believe a preexisting mental health condition has come out. She'll talk nonstop for hours, changing the subject of the conversation so rapidly that what she says doesn't make sense. Contradicts herself from one sentence to the other. Manic depressive, with no regard to reasoning or logic. If I disagree with her on any subject, she takes it as an attack on her character. If she cries, she'll cry for 5 hours straight. If she gets excited about something, she'll become compulsive and stay up for 2-3 days straight (no drugs).

I've asked her to talk to a therapist or see a doctor. She'll agree and then act like we never had the conversation. If I try to push it, she'll go into the crying stage and corner me until she breaks me down.

The only way I get any peace is to completely leave her alone and let her chase whatever crazy ideas she has and not hold her accountable.

Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation? I'm at a loss on where to go from here.

PS- I want to help her. I've been with her over 5 years, and she has never been like this. Giving her the boot and leaving her out to dry is not an option.

buy some rfid fabric, get her to let you cover her with it and see if she calms down or get her to get in a volume of water enough to block rfid. I was kind of like this, minus the blm part, for weeks. the rfid fabric stops it. I think some of us have been targeted, I just don't know how we were selected. I spent a lot of time in the water until my fabric got here.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79042121

It wouldn't hurt to try the rfid blocking fabric, a lot of what's going on with the protests does seem like a scene out of The Kingsman where the character Valentine is pressing his evil, magic button.

Try all the other advice too, she does seem bipolar, but there could be someone triggering it too.

You can get mild doses of lithium online or in some health food stores that might help.

It could be she just wants to be where the action is, her home life is boring; an escape but not necessarily mental illness but again she has parenting responsibilities so that comes first!

Clear Bi-Polar onset. Take her to the hospital and then APPLY for Social Security Disability and she will get it. Half the people here around Detroit are on SSD for the same thing. Get a Lawyer too as that is what will convince the judge.
