Donald Trump claims that nobody ever heard of Juneteenth until he made it famous. Doesn't remember WH statements for it in the past three years
President Trump took credit for popularizing Juneteenth, the commemoration of the end of slavery in the U.S., in a wide-ranging interview with the Wall Street Journal Thursday, saying: "I did something good: I made Juneteenth very famous."

The president claimed that "nobody had ever heard" of the June 19 celebration before he planned a rally in Tulsa on that day. His campaign ultimately changed the date of the rally to June 20 after receiving pushback from African American leaders around the country.

The Trump administration has put out statements on Juneteenth during each of his first three years.

When informed of this, Trump said: “Oh really? We put out a statement? Ok, ok. Good.”

Most likely HE had never heard of it or paid any attention to it before. Previous statement issued by WH never had him involved in it.

Looks like gramps forgot about the previous Juneteenth statements he issued and this is the first thing that popped into his steadily decaying brain.

Pretty weird how the white-supremacist-in-chief who made Juneteenth famous hasn't said a word about it today.

I guess it just slipped his increasingly senile mind.

I've heard of the Tulsa riots in the 20s, I knew Aunt Jemima had an absurdly racist advertising history, but no I've never heard of Juneteenth.
Perhaps because I'm not in the South.
