Graphic Video Surfaces Of Man Shooting Protestor After Being Chased Down, Albuquerque, dropped charges on the shooter
Video has surfaced of an incident leading to a man shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico during a protest over the “Juan de Oñate” sculpture in front of the Albuquerque Museum on Monday.

The graphic video shows an individual, identified by KRQE as Steven Baca, being chased and assaulted by several protestors. The individual eventually pulls out a firearm and shoots one of his attackers.

Many in the leftist media linked Baca with a militia group called the New Mexico Civil Guard, which was at the event. But KRQE reports the group claims Baca is not affiliated with them.

From KRQE:

The Civil Guard said the shooter from Monday night, Steven Baca, is not affiliated with them. Members of the Civil Guard were arrested by Albuquerque Police but were released a few hours later without any charges. The governor and the mayor condemned the group; the governor said in part:

'The heavily armed individuals who flaunted themselves at the protest, calling themselves a ‘Civil Guard’ were there for one reason: to menace protesters, to present an unsanctioned show of unregulated force.'

Shooting Charge Dropped Against Suspected New Mexico Shooter

A New Mexico prosecutor on Wednesday dropped a shooting charge against an Albuquerque man suspected of shooting a protester and called for further investigations after allegations the protester was armed at the time he was shot.

Bernalillo County District Attorney Raúl Torrez said he had serious concerns an initial police investigation into the Monday shooting did not identify who owned multiple weapons collected at the scene, including knives, nor interview key bystanders and police.

Torrez dropped an initial aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge against Steven Baca, 31, after images emerged online showing protester Scott Williams, 39, holding what was rumored to be a knife before he was allegedly shot by Baca. Torrez said he expected Baca to claim self defense in the case.

“There have been rumors on social media about what transpired in the final seconds before this and we are actively looking into those and whether or not this was justified," Torrez told an online press briefing. “The reason he is not facing that charge right now is because this investigation is not complete."

This needs to happen everywhere. You attack someone without real justification, you get shot. So happy he wont be charged for defending himself.

How is this not a shut and closed case of self defense? The law is clear. Events leading up the shooting matter, and the shooter clearly attempted to deescalate.

Seems this video "surfaced" days ago. I mean who hasn't already seen this numerous times?

The shooter should press charges.
