So someone typed a sentence into a GLP thread, in my name, and it is / was NOT my sentence. Has that happened to anyone else before?

All they'd get on my computer is music files and GLP. Important shit is done on another computer.

Another explanation of this is something less problematic. You have a faulty keyboard or a faulty USB port. Maybe even a bad driver install. Could be a number of technical issues unrelated to hacking.

This is kind of spooky to me because just earlier this afternoon something logged me out twice and msg saying do you want to change your password. Never happened before.

Wireless keyboards are notorious for this.

I don't think anyone hacked my account - the password was strong enough not to guess.
And anyone hacking my computer would not do anything as petty as change a sentence of mine on GLP.

It's hard to believe a GLP Mod would type that that someone should receive a welfare check though. Most all of them are conservatives, right?

No, I don't think it was a password guess.
I just changed my password now, but the password I had was strong.

Anyway, this is not THAT big of a deal, but it's plenty weird.

Also, a wireless keyboard isn't gonna type out the sentence "A welfare check should be done for everyone living in that area." in my name on GLP.

(unless you are saying someone hacked into my computer via wireless keyboard (which I don't have anyway))

to confirm your case, the guy i was talking about, wasn't a paid member, he posted as an AC and the next day his post was edited without any trace behind, so something shady is going on
now i'm not sure if it's possible if you post as an AC the OP, log in later as a paid member and edit the post, think it's impossible, but also there would be signs behind it (the post was edited by, at the time)
you're a paid member and you edited your post, complaining in it how somebody wrote instead of you, next time don't do it and just report it, you understand where i'm going

Here’s a idea. By welfare check, it also could mean, Sending someone to check on their welfare, called, ‘doing a welfare check’. That’s not a bad thought actually. And now it looks to me more like that is what they really meant.

Yeah, but even if the post is not edited, it is a post with my name and avatar. It looks exactly like I created the post and typed that sentence, whether edited or not.

All I know for sure is that I did not type that sentence.

I'd never say someone should receive a welfare check.

After I went back to re-read it, it looked a sentence someone else typed.

I think that has happened to me in the very distant past, Butch, but more recently I've seen someone type remarks I didn't make under my name in a blue box (as in a reply).

Someone plays games. It's creepy, but unfortunately there are some creeps on the site. They try to intimidate people - don't let them!

I think it's good you publicized this so people are aware, but I hope you won't let it deter you from staying or being active. I enjoy your posts whether or not I agree!
