It's amazing how many people in here would want to kill themselves and have a clone with all of their memories then reappear in another location.

That's exactly what a "Transporter" does.

If "Star Trek" became reality, I would OPENLY VIOLENTLY REVOLT, because you know damn well that shit would be REQUIRED for transportation in certain instances by the government.

Agreed. Only the shuttles for me, I'll gladly take the long way through traveling, there's warp speed so the way I see it is why not just get on a ship, travel on impulse to anywhere on the planet, and warp speed in between planets. I can enjoy the views while I shuttle from one place to the next.
