Anonymous Coward User ID: 79077863 Netherlands 06/27/2020 02:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ofcourse they did this, what goes around comes around. I don't blame Russia for doing this and I was part of ISAF in 2009 and it scarred me for life. This thread is a typical example of Americans pushing people around and screaming 'murder' when shoved back, as you always do. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 33385990 Australia 06/27/2020 02:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | they didn't. the USA funded the Mujahideen, who were the enemies of the Taliban. then they funded the Northern Alliance, who were also the enemies of the Taliban! check the links you posted!!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33385990 "Ahmed Rashid states that the US indirectly supported the Taliban through its ally in Pakistan between 1994 and 1996 because Washington viewed the Taliban as anti-Iranian, anti-Shia and pro-Western. For example, it made no comment when the Taliban captured Herat in 1995, and expelled thousands of girls from schools. At this early stage, the then Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Robin Raphel, strongly supported efforts to engage with the Taliban. She also supported a Unocal-led, Taliban-supported pipeline project on trips to Afghanistan and Pakistan in April and August 1996. She was one of the first senior American officials to meet personally with Taliban, including its leader, Mohammed Omar. She called on the international community to "engage the Taliban." Raphel was instrumental in coordinating the State Department's establishment of diplomatic relations with the Taliban shortly after its takeover of Kabul. She welcomed their taking of Kabul in September 1996 as a "positive step". Her consistent support for the Taliban from its earliest days earned her the sobriquet "Lady Taliban" and "Godmother to the Taliban" in some circles." [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] so like that says, USA funded Pakistan. Pakistan funded the Taliban. USA funded the Mujahideen not the Taliban. |

Seagull Lake User ID: 79010541 United States 06/27/2020 08:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How is this surprising? We sent a lot of Russians into the next world in Afghanistan during their time there, specifically, with our Stinger missiles. And, yeah, we bombed, in essence, their Delta Force in Syria. So, war is hell. We have to make the cost of killing our boys so high to them, that they become unwilling to pay it. I talked with a IDF guy years ago, he was telling me about the hostage taking in Lebanon in the 80’s, where we had Americans there for years, He said, when the Russians got their diplomats taken, they would find the friends and family of the hostage takers (everybody knows who all the real players are there) kill them and mutilate them, and leave them at the doorsteps of the power players. Their diplomats would get released. Seagull Lake |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78137357 You might be in a cult. Putin has been doing this for nearly 20 years. Bush knew about it - sent more troops. Obama knew about it - sent even more troops. Trump learns of it, never liked us being there to begin with and pulls troops out. |

When the relief crew comes in to take over, they find them and all panic ensues. I've heard many stories like this and the one you mentioned. Brutal but effective |

This comes from interrogated terrorists by our intel services. No doubt, possibly true, but I'm thinking more likely US Intel propaganda to stir the Russian narrative pot some more. Until Brennan and Clapper are brought down and all their lackey's they installed are driven out, I'll suspect these agencies motives. |
