Why do you call Jesus "the character".

Because these books are not written by the man himself, nor in his era. As they were written by anonymous people, the Jesus we all know is a character as interpreted by the author/s. This is fairly self-explanatory, no?

Here is a list of the people in the Bible who claim that Jesus is the Son of God, and those who claim that he is God the Son. I will keep it simple and not list the verses that claim that Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of Man, or the king of Israel. All these titles are synonymous.

The angel Gabriel says Jesus is the Son of God: Luke 1:35

John the Apostle says Jesus is the Son of God: John 20:31, 1 John 3:23, 4:15, 5:5

All the Apostles say Jesus is the Son of God: Matthew 14:33, John 6:69

John the Baptist says Jesus is the Son of God: John 1:34

John Mark says Jesus is the Son of God: Mark 1:1

Paul says Jesus is the Son of God: Acts 9:20, Romans 1:4, 1 Corinthians 1:9, 2 Corinthians 1:19, Galatians 2:20, Hebrews 4:14

Nathanael says Jesus is the Son of God: John 1:49

Centurions says Jesus is the Son of God: Matthew 27:54, Mark 15:39

Demons say Jesus is the Son of God: Matthew 8:29, Mark 3:11, 5:7,Luke 4:41, 8:28

In reality, there is not one single shred of evidence OF ANY KIND that actually DISPROVES any of the vast majority of events in the Bible.

There's more ancient manuscript evidence for Jesus than ANY other ancient person.

Numbskulls like you want to blabber of "comtemporary evidence" knowing FULL WELL that....

1. Starting after Jesus' death, the Pharisees did everything possible to derail the growth of Christianity.

2. Manuscripts, at the least, have lasted through...

-the Roman destruction of Israel & other wars in the Middle East of the 1st / 2nd Century
-the 200+ years of Roman persecution of Christians and Hebrews that began with Nero
-the "trinitarian" changes made to the Bible beginning around Tertullian's time
-the invasions / expansion of Islam that began after Muhammad's death in 632 AD

3. Even the Jesus-hating Pharisees wrote about Jesus in the Talmud.

Well Bishops of Rome would refer to the gospels wouldnt they? What about the Koran. Do you believe that too? Imams refer to it all the time.

I don't deny there may have been a man called Jesus who claimed he was the son of God and who was crucified. I do deny he physically resurrected. And even if he did, he promised to return. It's been two thousand years now. What's he waiting for?

The Koran was written 600 years AFTER the books of the New Testament.

How is it that so many Hebrews understood Jesus as the Messiah? His message was about Salvation for ALL. The idiot Pharisees only expect THEIR "kingdom" to be restored. They CRAVE power over all humans.
