That's not what I was taught about the law at all..
You can't just assault someone because they hurt your feelings...
Not legally anyway..
I'm not saying grandma didn't have it coming but...
It's not legal.
Now would the DA prosecute shaquela for assault over this in todays environment...

She was defending her own honor. The law is not there to allow some bitch like that woman instigate you. See, you can commit a crime and be morally justified. THAT is why juries can nullify the letter of the law at will and NO ONE can ever question their motives unless some criminal usurpation of the jury took place. I'd vote no even if I hung the jury and pissed them all off. And everyone is considered to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. So need to justify any of her actions, the prosecution has to do all the work.
