First, as soon as the protestors broke down the gate they were on community property of which the homeowner's belong. The mob could have actually been confronted by several armed homeowners. Once you break into private property, the protest is no longer peaceful and at the minimum, since they broke the gate, they would be considered to be breaking and entering upon private property. Several of the protestors had baseball bats and other items which could have been used as weapons, again showing it was not a peaceful protest and the homeowners felt they were being threatened with grievous bodily injury. Several of the protestors made threats to the homeowners, also for those who think they were just being a nice group of folks, that too is against the law also. This DA won't do squat, because he knows he will be personally sued should they arrest the couple. justavet In the end, our regrets are for what we didn't do, not for what we did. |
