I went to a wedding in NY in November. One of the guests, a childhood friend of the groom and his wife both got it in March. The man died, his wife survived but had severe neurological symptoms and is not doing well to this day.

My brother's father in law died from it. He was elderly and in a nursing home.

My sister in law is a doctor and treats COVID19 patients. Her nurse got it and was severely ill in ICU on a ventilator. She lived, but had seizures for weeks.

Another medical specialist we know well (diabetes specialist) got it, was quite ill.
She's a triathlon competitor and exceptionally fit. She's better now but has not been able to run or work out and it's six weeks past what she called recovered.
