Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79090308 Nothing you want to catch, but blown WAY out of proportion. If you have some other major health problems, or are ancient, or sickly to begin with, you might want to use common sense and take some precautions. If you are in a nursing home, GET THE HELL OUT! Those are the KILLING FIELDS. How can you say it's "blown out of proportion"? Some people have much worse reactions. You just got off with a less serious case. It's insane to say "oh I had it but since it wasn't bad for me it's no big deal". It's disgusting how self centered and ignorant people are. |

Hawktopus User ID: 76189764 United States 06/30/2020 01:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Had it (so i think) back in late Feb / early March. Quoting: WxSteve Started feeling feverish and crummy on a Friday afternoon, no big deal, took off from work early and headed home. By Sunday night I was a mess, Advil did a good job of controlling the fever symptoms. Breathing was a bit of an issue (I'm asthmatic and have albuterol and a nebulizer on hand, so breathing issues are nothing new for me). Sunday night rolls around and I waited on the Advil too long, I got a case of the cold chills, shaking really hard, well, that triggered my asthma. I took the advil, it took about 30 minutes to catch up, in the meantime I laid on the bed on my stomach (the only position that felt marginally good) and lived hard on my nebulizer. If I didn't have that nebulizer I wouldn't be here today, it was really that bad. repeat the above on Monday night as well, almost exactly. I ended up taking Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off from work, I never take days off from work. This, by far, was the sickest I've been in 40 years. It cleared by Wednesday but the lingering breathing issues hung on for a week or so. I had other symptoms too, but the breathing thing trumped everything else. Hard to describe what it feels like when you can't get enough air and think you might be dying... Why would you be that sick and not go to the hospital? Also why would you continue to go to work when you know you are sick? So fucking selfish. |
The Ghost of Comedian User ID: 49838646 United States 06/30/2020 01:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's been long enough now that we should be able to ascertain a little about the percentage of people who have been infected or become ill with Covid 19. Or those who have been asymptomatic and tested positive, too. Quoting: Fluffy Pancakes If you or someone close to you has had it, and feel alright about it, please leave an overview of the experience and the outcome. I'll leave my experience in the comments as well. There may be some overlap on some of the choices, but this should give us a bit of an overview of the GLP experience with this. If you find that there needs to be a more thorough explanation, please add it. No smack talk, please. There's plenty of that elsewhere! Now do the same poll but this time make it the flu, not the souped up common cold. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 71375307 United States 06/30/2020 02:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think it tried coming back on me last yr but what happened was a cytokine storm, very high temp for several days, with absolutely no other symptoms. My lungs are still trashed. Before covid I had 85% capacity(smoker), now I feel like its below 50%. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78867306 Australia 06/30/2020 02:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know of at least six people in the past three weeks who have died from it. Family members of friends or coworkers. They feel a little sick, and then dead a few days later. And some of them were in their early thirties. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72727002 That’s a very vague way of describing the deaths of six people. They, then, some... No emotional content, no sympathy, no empathy... |

Alya User ID: 77536021 Australia 06/30/2020 03:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This virus targets only people over 50 who already have health issues. This has always been the case with flu, nasty stomach virus, etc. in the past the media focused on number of deaths and that these people were already ill. Now they focus on the number of cases, OF ALL AGES. Who gives a fuck if youre 20 something and you have COVID-19. You’re more likely to die in a car accident than of Covid. We don’t test for people who have driving licences and put them in quarantines because they may die from an accident or pass on their bad driving habits to others. This whole Covid 19 is a cover for a failing economy, to prepare us for accepting lockdowns, for the time when they pull the whole system and replace with digital cash. Good bye black economy. Lol, Chinese takeaways around here are offering discount for people to pay cash! Hard to undercreport your takings when everything is paid by card straight into your bank account! |

She was moderately ill for a couple of weeks, but tested positive for 70 days. A neighbor got it working as a nurse in a city hospital. She was quite ill, but not hosptialized. We're in a so far low-incidence county (12 cases, 2 active), and not sure if any were from local community spread. At least 5 had attended an out-of-state wedding. More deplorable all the time. |

Apart from the kidney infection which hindered toilet activities, I'd have still gone to work if I'd been allowed to. Between you & God, there is no authority, only a man-made illusion of it. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78310900 United States 06/30/2020 03:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've known a bunch of people who have had it, including several family members. No hospitalizations, most relatively mild (some virtually no symptoms, regardless of age). Seems that the people who are more active and spend more time outside have had milder cases than the inside computer rat types. Some had two nights of sleeping sitting up because of difficulty breathing, fevers that keep coming back as in feeling well one day and then back fighting it the next. Sore joints for days. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 41251487 United States 06/30/2020 03:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a fair amount of online friends who have had this, but counting only people in real life, 2 definitely and my husband very likely. Quoting: Fluffy Pancakes One has recovered and has antibodies, but is still experiencing shortness of breath and intense joint pain. Had no preexisting conditions and was very ill for over a month. The other was elderly but didn't have anything other than arthritis and he died from it in about a week from the appearance of symptoms. My husband has RA and Lyme and has been feeling very unwell for a week. We've been very careful and doing an herbal and vitamin prophylaxis. But we're in an "Antimask League - There is no pathogen" stronghold. So now he has a dry cough, low grade fever, extreme exhaustion, gastric distress, constant headache, and brain fog. To clarify, prophylaxis is only a mitigation methodology, not a force field or positive pressure biohazard suit. I have no faith in the PCR test, so we are going to do treatment and then see about getting an antibody test. Make sure his Vitamin D is high - some report said nobody with a Vit D over 40 has been hospitalized |

I for one am over 70, may have had something like that in last year. Bad, but not much worse, than a regular flu. No flushot for decades, mild flu 1 per 3 years in a erage. Emerald_Glow 2.0 |
