People in Old Testament did not know Jesus. And did not know how to live a life for God. We received Heaven because of Jesus and what He did for all of us.

Only because of Jesus we have access to Heaven. God Himself came to our planet, He told us how to live a life, but we still want to hate people and live like people in Old Testament. The LORD is a man of war : the LORD is his name. (Ex 15:3) "Wherefore, it is said in the Book of the Wars of the LORD..." Numbers 21:14 So obviously, not the same dudes then!! . Lord is not a man.
