The stereotype is of a white, protestant person of English descent who ancestors usually go back to the mayflower and they are usually rich, upper class yuppie country club type persons who are in the power structure of the country and go to Ivy league schools like Yale or Harvard. George W Bush is a prime example of that stereotype though I don't know if his ancestors go back to the mayflower though. I never liked the term WASP because it sounded like they were calling me an insect and also I am not 100% Anglo Saxon either as there is Welsh and Irish and Scottish in my family tree too. Only some of my ancestors were Anglo Saxon and I don't come from a wealthy connected family so that stereotype of people like me being wealthy and connected is total bullshit. Yep people use the term W.A.S.P in a angry dismissive tone as if to say you are nothing more than a rich snob or something. Just like the term White Trash or Trailer Trash is an insult to poor white people. W.A.S.P is classist and ethnic slur against white people of English descent.

Shouldn’t Notre Dame University be forced to change its sports teams names as well? After all “Fighting Irish” plays on the bigoted stereotype of Irish people getting drunk and fighting all the time.

Yep and it could be deemed exclusive only to white Irish people if you use leftist logic. I think someone just didn't like the Wasp insect mascot is all and is just making up excuses to get rid of it. No sane person is going equate an actual Wasp with a white person.

So anything anything perceived as pro-White, or anti-Colored is being removed.
