I think he needed to show toughness and strong law and order to protect our institutions which he sure did. He also rightly acknowledged that this is a war for America’s survival —all good. BUT he needed to do more to draw black Americans in and there was nothing much in his speech for that. And that was a missed opportunity and will prove to be a real mistake. I disagree with your last point. Singling out a race is pandering and not good. We need less racial division at this time. We hopefully will see all affirmative action programs gone and section 8 housing. All that stuff has contributed to the racial tension we see today Enough with the phony bologna black vs. white stuff. It’s racist and does no good
