1980s SA was on par with USA and Europe...fantastic place to grow up. Pity politics ruined everything.

Fantastic place to live, but sadly it's becoming more difficult every day. I'm afraid it's time to go. My sons are 11th generation born here...late 1600's, but I hope they're last generation born here. It will be my life's purpose to relocate my boys to the USA...last bastion of Western Civilization as we know it.

It's still a place with stark contrasts...most of the middle class suburbs are quite safe...but you must know and respect the laws of the jungle...Africa isn't for sissies.

Just make sure you move to the countryside somewhere. The cities are almost indistinguishable from where you live now.
