They're making more and more complex transmissions with smaller and smaller parts. But I'd take the 10 speed auto over an 8 speed manual, which is too much work. Besides, most of the autos nowadays let you hand-shift them. . Ford has very high reliability ratings of late: Compared to Chevy probably so. I've owned Jeep, Chevy, Ford, Dodge and Toyota. Every one of those I've had issues with except one. The worst was Dodge and it was serious transmission problems. Jeep was also mechanical problems, Chevy was always AC problems. Ford had interior cosmetic problems (cheap quality...things breaking off) and electrical lighting problems. The only one that has stood the test of time is Toyota. No major issues after even 15 years, inside and out. |
