What’s In Your Heart?
It’s not what I say with my mouth but what I say with my heart. If I did all the things that are in my heart and said all the things that are in my heart , what would be the results of my life.
As He Thinketh In His Heart
Proverbs 23:6-7 KJV
[6] Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats: [7] For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
1. Be very careful of who you fellowship with
2. The evil doer has a lot of dainty meats to offer. Don’t get caught up in his appeal
3. As he thinks in his heart that’s who he really is
4. He appears to desire your fellowship
A ) with his lips he says eat and drink
B) But in his heart he is not with thee.
What’s in your heart?
John 12:3-6 KJV
[3] Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
Judas spoke with his mouth
But where was his heart?
[4] Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,
It sounds good
[5] Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
1. Was Judas really concerned about the poor?
2. He knew the selling price of the ointment
3. This was only what he said with his mouth
God reveals to us what was actually in judas’s heart.
[6] This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
1. God verified that this is what he said With his mouth
2. But this is what he said with his heart.
A) Judas didn’t care about the poor
B) Judas was a thief
C) he had the bag
D) but his heart was in the money that was in the bag.
Judas was very good at being deceitful
1. None of the eleven saw the real Judas
2. They heard great swelling words from him for he preached with them
3.but the whole time he was with them he was a devil
4. His heart was far from God.
5. He was money driven
6. He would later sell the Lord Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.
Outwardly Judas was one of twelve closest people to the Lord Jesus.
Inwardly he was an enemy of the cross,
the son of perdition.
30 pieces was enough for him to sell out.
1. Rather than repent before the son of God he runs to the priest.
2. Never got a chance to spend the money
3. Hung himself and went to hell.
As a man Thinketh in his heart that’s who he is.
What’s in your heart?
