Wales has banned public transport users from talking on the mobile phone, reading newspapers or consuming food and drink while on the bus or train, as it combats the spread of coronavirus. The government directive also orders passengers not to run for the bus, or run in major transport hubs such as railway stations. And it says people should travel in 'relative silence' with no 'loud activities' like singing happening on board.

The Welsh government said they were about 'taking every possible precaution' as 'there is clear evidence coronavirus can spread through aerosol transmission - when people are talking loudly, eating or even breathing heavily after running for the bus'. They will ask everyone using public transport, including taxis, to wear three-layer face coverings from July 27.
