Yugoslavia didnt exist until the 1900s but Serbs, and Croats were the first to exist in the balkan as separate countries back in the 6th century. This is when the Serbian and Croatian existence started .

Before this, the balkans regions was part eastern roman empire , greek empire and slavic tribes, bordering western europe

These people then made their own slavic lands in the 6th century and unified their language.

Even the difference between Serbs and Croats is almost non existant as they belong to the same ethnic Genes. The only difference is religion. Serbs are orthodox Christian's (eastern rome) and Croatians are catholic Christian's (western rome)



Since the 6th century many wars happened between the serbs, austrians , croata , bulgarians, etc , which split croatia and Serbia into smaller regions that included different separate states called Bosnia, Montenegro and other regions, even though they still spoke the same language

The muslims from turkey and middle east in the 14th century brought islam and that stuck with a lot of bosnians, although most of bosnia was still christian and Serbian in ethnicity.

Just in the last 100 years a Bosnia became majority muslim and kosovo became majority albanian ( Muslim albanian to be exact)

The bosnians croats and Serbs lived in harmony since the 6th century among themselves , and had to fight dozens of invasions from the western europeans , bulgarians, and middle easterners for over 1000 years.

Until finally the west made them fight themselves in the end

Basically Yugoslavia was being run as a self sufficient country with its own exports and didnt rely on imported goods from europe.

It was a successful country and doing better than a lot of western european countries which were all under control of Austria and Germany under the disguise of "Europe"

World war 1 broke out because of yugoslavian born Gavrilo Princip who shot the austrian president , during the presidents ceremony in Bosnia when the Austrians tried to make yugoslavian countries join them together with europe but yugoslavian didnt want to join because they had it good already.

Then in world war 2, hitler armed the croats and bosnians to genocide the serbs and created multiple factions that fought each other.

That aldo didnt last and yugoslavian reunited again after world war 2.

The war in the 90s was the final straw that finally broke the people and made them split yugoslavian dream up

This is REALITY. I GREW UP IN THIS REALITY and we had to flee the war to Germany, where we had MULTI ETHNIC friends from Yugoslavia again, during the war, and we were all friends!

I still go back to Bosnia, and i visit my friends and family and see how people are STILL living together, although the sides have split up from each other because they have traded villages to be less mixed now that they are independant.
