We've done nothing to fix the problems but keep throwing money at Wall Street.

This is going to be a nightmare housing crash & a lot of businesses, not just banks, are attached to housing...double edged sword! A housing crash is actually a blessing for investors (and banks to some degree) because they can recoup any losses they took leading up to the crash. As usual it benefits the wealthy while destroying the poor. After this clusterfuck, the entire Middle Class may be counted among the poor.
