99.9% of the time, if the person just listened and followed the directions of the cops, it would be sorted out in a few minutes and everyone would go on with their day.

Cops are legally allowed to detain you while they investigate a potential crime. If the cops fuck up and violate your civil rights AND YOU DIDN'T RESIST BUT FULLY COOPERATED, then you have a 6-figure/7-figure civil lawsuit which you will win.

By resisting, even if you're innocent of what your being accused of, you are guilty of a felony (resisting with or without violence).

I didn't see all of his evidence, but I did see him resisting arrest and being unreasonable..which encouraged them to continue to arrest him instead of letting him go. I think he's probably got a good lawsuit.
