I saw this TV show about two women working in a boutique in Washington D.C. One was white and going to college. The other was black and working as a prostitute after hours. The black woman looked bourgeois normal and came from a family of doctors, but she was stealing from the shop and the white woman reported her to the manager. The black woman murdered the white woman in a thousand different ways and then scratched herself up to make the scene look like a robbery that turned homicidal.
I always sympathized with black causes growing up. I listened to Malcolm X and Huey Newton, but when I read Richard Wright's Native Son, I realized the insanity of black/white race relations. Maybe the murderous impulse is part jealous rage in these cases. I feel lucky that I survived a black South African roommate in Saudi Arabia. Long story.
