It's been a long time since I had that thought and feeling but today I imagined and felt being destroyed forever and my soul desperately sought to escape it. I just can't freaking believe people don't care about living. And I'm not talking about death but spiritual non-existence, day of judgment death of the soul death, ceasing to exist. I can't have that. I will not. I mustn't. I can't need that. Ugh.

I'm saying if you're worried about your "soul" (whatever it may be; your guess is as much of a guess as anyone's guess... even if you really "feel" it and "believe" it... it's still your guess), then yes, a story like that, even if truly believed, at some level is a fabrication. Get angry at it, or face the truth in yourself... the mind is a very powerful thing... given the right triggers, it can make you "believe" anything.
