Trazodone. Works well and doesn’t leave you groggy in the morning either.

For some, Benadryl is a more effective sleep aid than actual sleeping pills.

Re: Something for Insomnia
Due to the opiod restrictions where I live you cannot receive Ambien, or ANY other sleep medication along with something like Norco, etc.

My doc has tried EVERYTHING in the antidepressant area to try to help my hubby sleep

He has tried Melatonin to no avail

Does anyone have any recommendations or tips. He is chronic pain patient but takes very little pain meds, he gets a lot of steroid injection with varied results.

He has a recalled hip which is implanted in a very complicated way due to a crushed acetabulum. He has a right knee replacement and 4 level back fusion.

He recently started with severe hip pain and they THINK it's SI Joint so he got a chiropractor who is limited in what he can do because of all of his surgeriers

I just started him on Tumeric for inflammation, also started Quercertin a few weeks ago, he takes 50,000 Vit D weekly, Zinc and Calcium and a Daily Mens vitamin

Can't sleep at all

Trazadone doesn't work? Knocks me right out.
 Quoting: JoeNobHead

Trazodone works great for me - cheap and nonaddicting - but I found out that not all Traz is equal. One makers pills are only around half as strong as anothers - Zydus. If the effect starts wearing off get it from Zydus. Break up the Traz use with a bit of Unisom - Doxlamine Succinate. There are a lot of pharmaceutical shills on forums knocking Trazodone. The reason why is very similar to the knocks on hydroxycloroquine - pharm companies lose billions of dollars a year since Traz is the most popular prescribed sleeping pill and it only costs a few dollars a month. Which is probably why some companies might not be putting a full 50 milligrams in a 50 mg pill.

Re: Something for Insomnia
try to get rid of inflammation, turmeric is good, the stuff you mentuioned is good, see if the diet isn't too acidic or causing imflammation, enough water is important, no heavy meals in the evening, not heavy on protein in the evening, ckeck the liver, maybe see an acupuncturist to see if the liver isnt blocked/empty/hot/....possible the "yang" is out of balance and is troubling the yin (sleep, rest, ...)
 Quoting: Heron88

Turmeric all comes down to what you buy. It's the Curcumin that is important. Really it's all that matters. Best one I've found from a lot of research including checking out independent 3rd party lab results was Dr Tobias.

This one is 750 mg of turmeric extract standardized to 95% curcuminoids (in one serving/pill). Turmeric extract standardized to 95% curcuminoids is all that matters on the bottle. When you check multiple companies. There extract standardized to 95% is always much lower or their serving size is 2 pills.

Now here is an example of a shitty brand that you are paying for pretty much nothing.. Even though it's one of amazons best sellers. You would need to take 7 pills in one serving and still not have as many curcuminoids.

CDB is not allowed by his pain control clinic .. although he only takes a miniscule amount of meds by choice. They do urine tests at unscheduled times too

cannabis is an incredible pain reliever, get them to reconsider or look to tranfer to a different authority who will allow/prescribe it

all this too. especially both your mobiles phones put in flight mode/off and in a metal box in another room. if you've had a smart-meter fitted get it removed or install shielding

i had years of insomnia which i finally traced to a mains powered radio-alarm clock which was a few feet from my head. if you must use mains powered anything in the bedroom make it on the other side of the room.

Re: Something for Insomnia
Do you have an "Earthing Sheet"?

If not, get one pronto at earthing dot com! You will enjoy it also. IF you are pretty zapped with EMF, your 1st couple of nights on it will bring on pretty intense kinda hot flash but that will go away after those 1st few nights.

Kava, which you can buy on Amacon will also work well with the Kratom.

Taking a double dose or triple dose of collagen is also a good for sleep, something about the L-Glycine is good for sleep.

My stand by emergency for when I can't sleep is frozen cherries. Makes you cold & want to get in bed & has melitonin? that seems to kick in quickly & put you to sleep BUT using it every night, like most things, it seems to loose effectiveness.

Anything you take will interfere with a normal sleep cycle as it disturbs REM sleep.

Wake up and do ordinary things like sincerely making romantic love. What will you do when you can't self-medicate due to supply chain failure???

Re: Something for Insomnia
Treatment for insomnia may involve nonmedical therapy, such as developing better sleep habits or psychotherapy, and sometimes medications. Personally, I have found a solution to this problem. I actively spend my day. And take light sedatives, which I order at a [link to www.canadapharmacy.com (secure)] . They suit me and I can sleep peacefully.
