I have spent the past 3 hours trying to get it to work. :/ Quoting: Anonymous Girl Did you pay it? What did your last slave die of? #Printerlivesmatter... But seriously you probably have a loose ethernet cord or wrong wifi key. Reconnect your ethernet cable or put the right wifi key in the network settings of your printer and whala... Instant working printer. Edit; some printers don't support special characters in the wifi key password, so if your wifi relies on them you won't be able to connect. Enable a secondary network with a soley number only password to connect the printer to the wifi network. I have spent the past 3 hours trying to get it to work. :/ Quoting: Anonymous Girl That typically means that your computer can't communicate with it. Check your connections to it. If it is a network printer make sure it's on the network. I don't really know how to do that. I've run the troubleshooter, but it just keeps telling me that it's turned off when it's not. I've restarted everything. It's connected wirelessly so I'm sure it has something to do with the connection, I just don't know where to find that info. I'm wondering if just uninstalling/reinstalling will help. Actually, that may not be a bad idea. Most manufacturers have great support including how to videos on their products. Many printers go into sleep mode after non-use for a period of time, it's probably in the printers settings menu and I'm betting that is where the problem is. You might also want to check your network settings for your home network and make sure the printer is listed there. Good luck. I'm not sure how to do that.. I'm wondering if just uninstalling/reinstalling will help. You might try the suggested uninstall/reinstall first. You can also check your wireless router. About 90% of the time that's done by opening your browser and typing in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Hit enter on the keyboard. This will take you into the router's control panel. It's a good place to check things. Don't actually change anything in there without writing it down, but you'll be able to see if the network finds the printer. You can find your USB connection on the printer by looking for something like this: [link to www.steves-digicams.com] It's usually, though not always, close to the electrical plug in. Get the proper cable and plug it into the computer directly. Won't work for the network, but you'll be able to print your stuff. But the best thing might be to call technical support since you're not terribly familiar with this stuff. Keep telling them you're deaf until you get someone who speaks understandable English. Most of the time they can actually get you up and running although you might have to do a few useless steps before they find the problem. Printers are the pits when they don't work because if you shake them up and drop them on the floor, they're usually finished. More deplorable all the time. |
