Link between believing COVID is a hoax and intelligence: take an online intelligence test and post your results
This is just a quick survey to see if there is a link between intelligence, and whether or not you believe the coronavirus pandemic is a hoax.

Please take the intelligence test at this link (takes just 12 minutes):

[link to iqtestprep.com (secure)]

Then post your intelligence score in this thread, along with whether you believe COVID to be a hoax or not.

Then we can look at the posted results, and see the trends.

what is the point of dispute here ?

That there's no way this could be a hoax or that if you crunch the numbers and decide that's the most likely scenario you must be defective in some manner ?

I would predict that those who think COVID-19 is all a big hoax will tend to have less intelligence. This is because COVID-19 is a subject with very complicated science, and so unless you have sufficient intelligence to grasp all the complexity, and understand the subject, you may just dismiss it as nonsense. When humans do not understand something, they often dismiss it as nonsense.

The conspiracy theories are not difficult to understand. If someone for example proposes COVID-19 is just a fabrication, and a plot organized by governments around the world to take away our freedoms, it's pretty easy to understand that.

Whereas to understand the complex fields of virology, epidemiology and immunology — which is necessary to fully understand the dynamics of the pandemic — is more difficult. I think this is why some people think the pandemic is a hoax, because they don't really understand the science.

That might be true in the case of a single article on a particular subject.

And that often comes down to the quality of journalism. A journalist may only have a day or two to research and write their article. That may not be enough time to really get to grips with the subject. In which case, the article may miss important point, or may mislead.

Though if you stick with high-quality newspapers known for fact-checking, the journalism is better. And if you start reading lots of high-quality newspapers to cross-reference, that helps overcome journalistic limitations.

In the case of COVID, we are not just talking about a single article, we have literally thousands of media articles to read, from a diverse array of media sources. Plus if you are scientifically literate, you can read the scientific studies directly (you don't need a journalist to interpret them for you and re-write them in a simpler language).

When you have billions, you only read very high quality journalism, because your investments critically rely on getting accurate reports of what is going on in the world. So the most truthful newspapers are the ones rich investors read, because the safety of their money and investments rely on it.

So find out what the rich read, and follow their lead. They did not get rich by accident. They got rich because they had good information.

Did you read that somewhere? Here is what I think... people who don't know , don't know they don't know.....
What if you lived life instead of reading about it and assuming you are smarter than everyone else? Or you could spend as much time reading the things that the people on here read and form your own opinion. Your point is just as valid from the other side of your argument. This happens when students are not taught to go and research an issue but taught to respond with "but my professor said".
People here do not believe corporate journalism nor do they want to be a soulless rich guy. It is just a bad argument any way you slice it. Don't you have a city to burn? Oh I forgot, tonight is stay home and eat moms cooking and troll night.

Funny you should mention burning in the context of COVID-19: quite a few not so smart individuals have been out and about burning down 5G mobile phone transmitter towers, because in their minds, they think 5G radiowaves are the cause of the coronavirus pandemic. Why? Because they read conspiracy theory rags propagating such nonsense, instead of quality media; or they get their news from their none-to-bright friends on social media.

So COVID conspiracy theories are leading to arson and criminal damage. They also unfortunately may lead to people dying unnecessarily, because those who say coronavirus is a hoax will not take any precautions against catching it and transmitting it to others. And the propogate to others the idea that coronavirus is a hoax, which amplifies the problem.

I would call this behaviour immoral, but it's not really immoral, because these people do not know any better. It's down to poor education or just down to not being the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Conspiracy theory acolytes rarely form their own opinion through reasoned thinking; rather they follow conspiracy theories like stupid sheep, and become part of the viral spread of those conspiracy theories. No matter how ridiculous or improbable a conspiracy theory is, you will always find a bunch of sheep following it.

Invariably these conspiracy theory acolytes think themselves smarter and more in the know than the more sober elements of population. And you cannot convince them otherwise, just as you cannot convince mad people who claim to be the second coming of Christ that they are not in fact Jesus.

Re: Link between believing COVID is a hoax and intelligence: take an online intelligence test and post your results
The only people who believe it to be a hoax are the ones who don't know anyone who has had it, and that number is shrinking daily as more people contract it.

Now, is it so bad we need to hide away and freak out about it? No. But some people are really listening to the whole "Chicken Little" crap Leftist MSM is telling them - you know that they are all going to die. Rush noted a survey on his show the other day which said that average American thinks 9% of people in the US have DIED from COVID. Now, that's a lack of intelligence right there. Do they not understand that 9% of 350,000,000 is 31,500,000? So realistically, those COVID-Tards are probably the lowest IQ of them all. You know, the ones who get violent when they see someone not wearing a mask.

In Russia that is certainly the case. Russian oligarchs get rich by corruption, by aligning to what Putin says and wants (which means more corruption), fucking over and ripping off lots of people, assassinating their business rivals before those rivals assassinate them, and then buying expensive mansions in places like the UK, where they can enjoy their wealth with less risk of being assassinated by those people they fucked over en route to getting rich.

But when you take those super-wealthy in the West who made their money via advancing technology — Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, etc — these guys did it by more by talent. And they revolutionized the world in some cases (Jobs).

Elon Musk taught himself rocket science in his spare time! And then set up his rocket company Space X.

Of course many of the halfwits on this forum have fallen like sheep for the Bill Gates conspiracy theories. That's due to their sheer ignorance. Gates is doing more than any man in history to tackle nasty infectious pathogens like polio, which cripples children, get the halfwits of the world see him as evil, rather than doing good.

That's because the halfwits are halfwits.

Luckily the world is not run by the ignorant, otherwise we would be in the dire state depicted by that film Idiocracy, where the stupid had out breeded the intelligent, and taken over the world (see: [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] ).
