That's so true.. Up here we aren't driven by a for-profit medical industry, and we're barely affected by the covid, for some reason.

You don't even know if the care you get is effective or quality? You're just a bunch of smiling children for putzing?
Jessica yaniv? Hello? "He prospers" punking putzes?

Fact of "free medicine" is that more die than in private care and the idiots are told anything and progged "accept it with a smile!" Which is a FAR cry from the original "grin and bear it" which does not even nearly mean the same thing.

Yes yes life in a self made hedonistic baby bubble! Aren't we all just GREEN with jealousy! Only the very best people get to deteriorate from 8 years old to 6......socialists.

Re: CDC Chief Agrees There’s ‘Perverse’ Economic ‘Incentive’ for Hospitals to Inflate Coronavirus Deaths
United States hospitals have a “perverse” monetary “incentive” to increase their count of coronavirus fatalities, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s director Robert Redfield indicated under questioning from a Republican lawmaker during a House panel hearing on Friday.

Asked to comment on what Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) described as the “perverse incentive” during a hearing by the House Oversight and Reform Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, Dr. Redfield responded:

I think you’re correct in that we’ve seen this in other disease processes too, really in the HIV epidemic, somebody may have a heart attack, but also have HIV — the hospital would prefer the [classification] for HIV because there’s greater reimbursement.

So I do think there’s some reality to that. When it comes to death reporting, though, ultimately, it’s how the physician defines it in the death certificate and … we review all of those death certificates.

So I think, probably it is less operable in the cause of death, although I won’t say there are not some cases. I do think though [that] when it comes to hospital reimbursement issues or individuals that get discharged, there could be some play in that for sure.

No matter your philosophical views, we have the most convoluted and stupid medical system possible. It's a patchwork of various stupid things the government has done over time. The entire concept of insurance isn't even applied correctly. Insurance is supposed to be for something catastrophic, not routine. There's no reason you should have to use insurance to get some basic prescription or procedure. It's akin to using your car insurance to buy gas or change the oil.

I don't think anyone could deliberately design such a stupid and convoluted medical/healthcare system as ours. The Congresscritters don't care because they get the best of the best. Old bag Ginsburg gets the best of the best. If anyone thought the Supreme Court had any integrity remaining, upholding that BS Obamacare should have ruined that thought. Medicare isn't even constitutional, nor is social security.

Re: CDC Chief Agrees There’s ‘Perverse’ Economic ‘Incentive’ for Hospitals to Inflate Coronavirus Deaths
I wonder if that reimbursement is for the entire hospitalization. Cuomo kept saying that after 30 days the chances of getting better were nil. Some people don't get better in 30 days. I wonder if the reimbursement went down after 30 days and a covid patient would cost the hospital money. Do you think they would intentionally disconnect patients if they were costing hospitals money? They have shown a few patients that lived longer than the 30 days and recovered. Nursing homes take ventilator patients. Why weren't more hospitals sending patients to nursing homes? The hospitals need to be investigated for the handling of these patients. Hospitals are now advertising to have patients come back in for procedures. People have learned to stay away from hospitsls.

Correct.

The idiot who posted the factcheck link apparently did not even read the article there because even the "experts" quoted there said they "didn't think" it was happening. Sorry but "didn't think" is not the same as factual.

The fact that many hospitals are losing revenue is all the more of an incentive for then to grasp for more revenue. That is called "opportunity" when it comes to criminal misconduct. What we are witnessing is a mass fraud on the part of many healthcare providers which is evidenced by the fact that almost nobody is actually listed as dying from other ailments. Who knew that covid-19 would cure cancer?
