Court’s final ruling against Patreon opens legal avenue to defend against deplatforming
It looks like Patreon will have to pay out millions for arbitration fees.

So all the other big tech companies can deplatform at will but when Patreon does they get slapped with legal problems. The deep state just doesn't stop.....

Consumer rights are involved with patreon and paypal. You can't deny a consumer access to the goods they purchased. They are fucked!

I count this as a victory - but we need more. The left has censored us and dominated the information war for too long.
In 1967, Polish mercenary Rafal Ganowicz was asked what it felt like to take a human life. He replied: "I wouldn't know, I've only killed communists.”

Probably because of the kind of membership platform and the perks bestowed on patrons who suffered loss. The plaintiffs in this case were the patrons, not the content creator. An arbitration clause inserted into Patreon’s TOS seems to have been their undoing, if I’m interpreting this right. Hope this is the beginning of lots of new strategies for lawsuits.

Because with patreon and paypal, consumers bought goods and services and now they have no access to those goods and services.

Good info at this link:

[link to reclaimthenet.org (secure)]

"Cernovich added that in this specific case, because Patreon changed its terms of service after it was put on notice by Benjamin’s former backers, it could also face arbitrations because it unilaterally altered the terms of service “in a way that’s illegal under California law.”

Wrong, we used paypal to purchase a "goods and services" from GLP and we were denied access to paid membership for a brief period. Some even were charged after paypal severed ties.

GFY

Edit for clarification: some were denied renewing their paid memberships.

SO WHERE IN THE CONSTITUTION DOES IT SAY YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO A PLATFORM?

DID YOU BUILD PATREON? DO YOU MAINTAIN IT? DOES THE PUBLIC OWN IT?

OR IS IT A PRIVATE BUSINESS?

WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU ARE ENTITLED TO SOCIAL MEDIA OR ANY PLATFORM THAT YOU DID NOT BUILD THAT YOU GET TO USE FOR FREE?

DOES THE PUBLIC OWN PATREON? DOES THE GOVERNMENT?

NOPE, PRIVATE BUSINESS IS NOT OWNED BY THE PUBLIC, NOT MAINTAINED BY THE PUBLIC, SO WHAT RIGHT DOES THE PUBLIC HAVE TO PRIVATE BUSINESSES?
