The stimulus checks are not tied to unemployment. Some reasons for my clients not getting their checks yet have been: they haven’t filed taxes in several years and their info was not on file, or they usually owe so their direct deposit info was not on file and instead of waiting for the paper check they decided to input their direct deposit info on the website but did it wrong and forced a zero return instead which now flags their info with the irs because it should not be a zero return so when they filed the real return it had to be an amended return filed on paper which will take god knows how long to be processed.

Those are the only two reasons I’ve seen. So I would say if you want to get the benefits of filing taxes, stop being a pain in the ass tax protestor and file your damn taxes like you should and you wouldn’t have this problem. No one likes taxes. No one thinks they’re fair. Thinking they’re illegal does not get you off the hook. If you haven’t been forced to do them yet, it’s only a matter of time before it catches up to you.

But blame other people if it makes you feel better about ditching your own responsibilities as an adult. There are a whole lot of people thrown out of their jobs by no fault of their own and there aren’t many places hiring other than fast food and big box retail. Enjoy your power trip of being an essential worker while it lasts. It may make you feel extra special here and now, but anyone can do your job. As soon as the country adapts and everyone is working again, you’ll probably be the one out of a job. They’re making robots to do the low skill essential jobs.

The service industry is destroyed in the small business sector. Retail is almost dead. The people deserve more. The large chains were bailed out and you don't think individials deserve to be bailed out? FU

How do you feel about the big corporations taking billions in relief that they don't need? If you took every penny your "freeloaders" are taking, and gave it to the corporations, they wouldn't even notice because it's such a relatively small drop in the bucket. This isn't even complicated math- just simple arithmetic.

Yep and I am self-employed so I've been paying 25%. I applied for the PPE or whatever the SBA thing is called to try and keep going five different ways and did not receive a thing from it. When the option for self-employed, independent contractors etc. came up I went ahead and filed. It worked but I am not currently, although as an entrepreneur I am pivoting and trying to adjust to emerging trends.

So the people who are not eligible for unemployment can go ahead. Those who have paid-in have a little wiggle-room.
