OH Governor’s Office: In a second test administered today in Columbus, Governor Mike DeWine has tested negative for COVID-19. First Lady Fran DeWine and staff members have also all tested negative for COVID-19. [ link to twitter.com (secure)]  [ link to twitter.com (secure)] Think they still use the Abbott IDNOW platform, which officially is great but hasn't been doing well with independent verification. Apparantly the first test was antigen, second test PCR. So he's most likely negative because PCR have the higher accuracy. What I don't get is the PCR test was administered in the afternoon but they have the result back already? I thought it took 24 hours minimum to process a PCR test. Actual processing time is ~1-2 hours. A lot of the delays are from the testing sites collecting samples for a day, then sending them to the lab at the end of the day. If the lab has no backlog they process it the next day. If you are a governor and can summon a nurse and have your sample brought to a lab with a handy "RUN ASAP" note you can get your results quite a lot quicker.
