As long as You do Your job no one will fuck with You and sense people aren't busting down the doors to get a job You won't have a piece of shit manager riding Your ass. Now I'm not saying You won't get yelled at or cursed out because You will but once You start acting like an adult and performing Your job without having to be pushed to do it they will leave You alone unlike regular shit jobs.

It would seem so, OP, that there are things beyond our control. But on a different level, and if we look at this in an expanded perspective, all circumstances have been created by ourselves collectively. If we see ourselves as a collective, or inseparable from each other, as in all being on the receiving end of every "input" globally, then there is something we can do about it. If we see ourselves as separate, then we are assuming we have no influence whatsoever, when actually we do have an impact - by actions and also by non-action - on the whole of which we are part. This sense of unity, which involves caring for everyone (meaning we would also be cared for by everyone) is sadly lacking on this planet.

Sorry that this may not have much meaning for you in your acute situation. But it is actually probably one cause of your acute situation - lack of unity and solidarity with each other. We receive what we give (cosmic law of balance), so if you want to see solidarity for yourself, give it to another.

I once had a series of transcriptions made from 78s. They took years, sitting listening to shellac records at 33 and a third til I got them just right. Problem was, my family and I fought about my interest in music, because they felt entitled to an increasing share of my time, so what used to be pleasurable became freighted with the emotional garbage associated with marking off that small amount of 'me time' and how 'selfish' that was.

Eventually, since the experience was so overwhelmingly negative, I stopped playing an instrument altogether, and let the transcriptions get tossed with my old computer. I don't feel regret or anything. It just is.
