I know how you lot feel, we had a 5.4 quake in England about 10 yrs ago and it's also exceedingly rare. Shook the house, knocked object's off of shelf.

Multiple quakes last night . This morning was 5.1. I am two hundred miles away and heard and felt the one last night at about quarter to one in the morning . It knocked the screen out of an upstairs window . I live alittle North of Raleigh.

Someone finally shared a link to the site that measures earthquakes in virtual real time. That makes them a “noobie” somehow?

White lake was a crater, that’s what they told us as kids....big and shallow....pretty....went there as a kid .....somewhere in North Carolina.

We had a near 7 pt quake in NW Montana a year or two
back and it sent us all out into the street to sit on
the curb for an hour or so. THAT was a first for me,
although I did feel some of the quakes prior to the
eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980--that was scarey.

I've had major physical symptoms the past week or 2 with
the up-tick in gamma ray bursts and the Schumann Resonance
being in white-out mode. We live a football field length
from the main faultline for NW Montana--so I think we
may even be getting some of the exotic energies and the
gas release when the seismic events happen...wouldn't
surprise me from what we have been feeling.

I don't think this is over yet with this current uptick
and I hope that you are in a safe area.

Look, that was the first mag reported on the thread. People's reaction to a 2.6 seemed an overreaction to me....I've lived in both the Philippines and Cali, I've been in some real shakers. I then came to find out it was a 5.1, and that made the reaction understandable.

I've also seen someone who was in their first EQ, and it scared the kwap outta them....it was also a 5-pointer.

After you've been in NUMEROUS 5+ - 7+ EQs, they become not as....unnerving....although they are unnerving, but to a much less degree.

Family visiting Gatlinburg,Tennessee felt the quake.

Lake Norman area here, just north of Charlotte. We felt it pretty strongly for 5-10 seconds. Entire condo shook. Was lying in bed thought I was dreaming!!

NC solved their quake problem for years by not having any seismographs.That way only South Carolina had earthquakes.

This earthquake was very different from most. I am an earthquake sensitive in Maggie Valley, NC, and I feel a type of floating before a quake. I think it has something to do with gravity. I felt nothing before this one.

However, what I did feel was unlike anything I ever have in my life! It pinged my phone while sending a shrill ringing chime throughout my house. It lasted for 10 seconds,and, of course the lamp next to my bed rocked to and fro.

I felt it was an invent connected to the water table. This County is the wellspring County for the whole Eastern Coast. We have been receiving massive amounts of rainfall daily with constant thunderstorms. It is as if we have accepted that we are becoming a rainforest. Water and more water.

Sparta, the epicenter, is, also, an area ripe with water.

On the other hand, water is what is inside of us, and we are suffering so deeply right now as a species. We have been used and abused by those we trusted in this Country...yes, more than usual.

I have had it out with Lucifer, sick of taking his crap. It is high time for God to reign him in.

I am waiting on Christ and will be running to His arms soon. Praise His Holy name.

Is there a geologist in the house to speak about the significance of a water bearing and spring-filled land and to the pressure a high water table puts on a land area?

Bless you for posting this observation b/c swear to gawd, as those t-storms just developed and literally sat over our area, I kept thinking to myself, 'the ground, the house is shaking and it is constant sensation.' Chalked it up to these storms and serious lightning discharge.

Now I know I'm right.

As a side note from an ol' country gal, people need to pay close attn to all animals. They just act weird prior to quakes and tornadoes. Seen if firsthand.

If critters are normal and a quake happens, especially a shallow one, then odds are it's frackin' operation or taking out of something under our feet.

I’m in Raleigh, and my cat was meowing a lot and acting out of sorts before the shaking. I wondered if she didn’t feel good, had an upset stomach or something, but it must have been the quake because she’s fine now and behaving normally.
