Have you ever been to Portland, or Seattle? They feel it’s their civic duty to tolerate this crap because it’s for a cause that their liberal ideology wouldn’t allow them to disagree with.

I live across the bridge in Washington, and up north of Portland a good 65 miles. I have a great view of Mt. St. Helens and only 1hr from white pass ski resort, and 1 hr from the beach. I love my state and where I live, but we are being run into the ground and Seattle has become a rogue socialist haven. Might be time to head back to Alaska soon and say a long goodbye to the lower 48.

That would require a set of balls, something that is hard to come by in Portland.

Not sure about you or AC7686, but most people in general avoid even talking clearly and forcefully about political matters when in mixed company, at a family gathering or holiday office party. Liberalism (or leftism, for people who have tender feelings for the word "liberal") is rarely repudiated, rarely denounced and rarely described as the cold, mean-hearted ideology it really is.

Yea, there are sour, snot-faced conservatives and kind, wonderful liberals. But political biases that tend to make people say "fuck you" about honesty, common sense, integrity and compassion - as liberalism tends to do - easily causes people to be Frankenstein Monsters.

I don’t think Seattle would be as high of a likely chance because of how massive even the suburbs are there. Portland is relatively small in comparison to Seattle.
