yup, they said 80 mph winds i heard. few guys trucks got whacked good in the parking lot at work, nothing serious but plenty of dents.

i rolled my windows up, thought it was just rain - hour later got rushed into the shelter.


one of my neighbors had a tree limb probably 20' long maybe 2 foot in diameter fly into his living room.

yeah somehow most of my neighborhood got off easy. im not trying to go out site seeing, traffic is backed up, trees down, traffic lights out and no one directing traffic so its a free for all.

but im surprised i expected a lot more down trees in my neighborhood since the ash bore beetles have weakened a ton of ash trees around here that they are slowly removing.

good time to have a welder generator and a solar system, got surplus power to help my neighbor keep his fridge cold which is nice.

Multiple tornado warnings about 45 minutes to the west of me.

tornado sky is so strange. it's not like a dark cloud, all ominous - it's more like a pale straw colored sky, almost dark green. very strange, quite ominous.

midwest weather is somethin fierce.

I'm just North of Des Moines. The headline should read hurricane force winds. There was a 15 minute warning in a normal day. Sirens went off. Then a hurricane came through and knocked out 100% of the power. Trees down. Traffick lights broke. And was gone in 30 minutes. The storm warning said 80mph winds, mobile homes WILL BE damaged. There was no cell service for 12 hours.

I have pics I will upload when I get a decent charge.

Are those high winds flattening the corn fields? Does anyone else here watch the Cole the Cornstar channel on youtube?
