If he had a gun they'd have said so, but they didn't. They said he pulled "something" out of his pocket and appeared to "aim" it at the SS officers. Probably a phone.

Happens all the time now, dozens of people have been shot pulling phones, one 11 year old boy was shot answering his own door with a WII controller in his hand.

The law on cops and guns should be if there is no evidence of a violent crime the guns stay in their holsters. This includes when people are actually holding but not pointing a gun, since carrying or holding a gun is a perfectly lawful.

If a cop takes a gun out of a holster to gain compliance he is immediately terminated and barred from law enforcement forever. It's a criminal act to use a gun to gain compliance in a non self defense role in all fifty states.
