No Jake, it used to be a good place in the 70's and even the early 80's. The east side didn't go to crap until the mid 80's. I still had elderly family and friends with families that lived there. My first real job, after high school, was downtown at Lasalle's. There were only small neighborhoods that weren't safe back then, like Jefferson St.

I know I've been gone for a long time, but I don't recognize the place anymore. The 3rd world wouldn't want it now.

I grew up there. The level of stupidity is absurd.

Lived in the North end for 10 years. Bought first house there. Same area is a shit hole. Section 8 homes took over, Boarded up houses. I kid you not, an entire street had boarded up houses on both sides. Glad I got out of there.

Yep. We lived in Erie and the old mans family were all on the east side of Toledo.
It is unreal how much it has changed in 20 yrs
We keep up with each other on FB, thats all I use it for.
I begged him to get out of there when our daughter was born. She's 21 now and his mother calls to say she's over it. They've all lived there their entire lives.
I am thankful every day he saw it coming too.
The OD's there are outta control. Shootings are next. Crazy town, not Hunkytown anymore.

qualities. I remember seeing all these wonderful cities and
states and thinking we were so lucky to have a country
like this.

As a kid I used to dream of a day we would move to
another state. Back then while growing up people would say
'Why do you want to leave? You live in the best state'.

Back then, I realized they were right so never moved.

Now I'm so glad I don't live in a liberal state.
