They actually made a biographical movie on Nikola Tesla.
Brilliant, visionary Nikola Tesla (Ethan Hawke) fights an uphill battle to bring his revolutionary electrical system to fruition, then faces thornier challenges with his new system for worldwide wireless energy.

The film tracks Tesla’s uneasy interactions with his fellow inventor Thomas Edison (Kyle MacLachlan) and his patron George Westinghouse (Jim Gaffigan).

Another thread traces Tesla’s sidewinding courtship of financial titan J.P. Morgan (Donnie Keshawarz), whose daughter Anne (Eve Hewson) takes a more than casual interest in the inventor.

6.2 on IMDB, but prob because most people are too indoctrinated to realize his genius.

About to shower and then I will watch it.

Preview looks ok, at least not biased.

Re: They actually made a biographical movie on Nikola Tesla.
Interesting "movie".

15% documentary with some narration, 80% movie, and 5% pure fiction (they admit 2 scenes didnt really happen).

In one of the scenes I am pretty sure Edison pulls a mobile phone out of his pocket and begins to scroll through his social media account.

In another scene Tesla does karaoke in which he sings "Everybody wants to rule the world" by Tears For Fears.

Tesla died in 1943, broke and alone, but 2000 people did attend his funeral.

7/10 from me.

I think it's just about time we move past Tesla and invent better, newer things. That's not to diminish his cleverness or importance, but because life is about making new experiences and improving our status in the universe. Also, it seems tiresome to retell the same story over and over again. First we'll have to solve the communist problem though.

Nikola Tesla did the first air-power (wireless electricity) experiments 120 years ago, and we are only just now beginning to create similar systems.

DAVID bOWIE played Tesla in the movie "Prestige" by Christopher Nolan, a movie GLPers would enjoy I think.

It was a good movie.

There are a couple of older TESLA movies.

I will look into them also.

The film is worthless. Don't even bother. It's boring with 100% unlikeable characters.

Re: They actually made a biographical movie on Nikola Tesla.
The film utilizes J.P. Morgan's daughter as a potential paramour to Tesla that never actually became realized. Thus she is bitter she waste time and that he wealthy billionaire father wasted $150,000 (bout $4 million today).

Tesla comes across as a disconnected genius who dreamt up impossible to capitalize upon inventions, thus why he went penniless.

This is a film no one wanted and most won't enjoy.
