NC 'reporting error' fuels 200,000 COVID testing overcount
“ RALEIGH - North Carolina overcounted its tally of completed coronavirus tests by 200,000 since the start of the pandemic, state officials announced Aug. 12, blaming most of the error on a processing lab. The error doesn't affect key measures such as the percentage of positive test results, they said.

Mandy Cohen, secretary of the state's Department of Health and Human Services, pinned the brunt of the blame on LabCorp Diagnostics for providing North Carolina with two different daily testing count numbers when the clinical lab network submitted the data electronically and manually. ”

So there was an error but it does not affect the numbers reported.

I must be overlooking something because that doesn't make sense to me.

It doesn't affect the numbers reported because they were made up in the first place and continue to be fictitious.

I see what you are getting at but that's not the answer I am looking for. They aren't admitting that in the link posted.

Mr Price, 7th grade Science. Counting is NEVER accurate when done by humans.

Take 30 students, turn to page 164 in a book, and count the number of words on the page. There will be different answers, every time. FACT.

But with human counting there can be a consensus. On page 164 of the book there are between 200 and 205 words.

In voting same dealio. Out of 330 million votes only 10% will be inaccurate.

The point of the thread is to shame the government. I think.
