The US has been poking sticks at Iran for quite some time, I'd tend to wait for some ultimatum from Bush about "axis of evil" or more on the "nuclear problem" in Iran.

However Israel is likely feeling bolder by it's incursion into Syria, with US help a strike into Iran along the same lines is likely all that is necessary to tip the balance.
