I wish they'd just drop the pretense and admit we're never going to pay the debt back. With every taxpayer on the hook for hundreds of thousands of dollars, even if we reduced the deficit to 0 we couldn't afford the interest.

If we're just going to default or inflate our way out of the debt, what's the difference between $30 trillion and $300 trillion?

I'm thinking about starting a new political party, the "infinite debt party." The platform would be that the government funds everything through debt. Tuition, food, hospital costs, rent, all of it. Doctors and farmers simply tell the government how much they want, and blammo, there it is for them.

$10,000 for an aspirin? Sure. $1 billion per semester tuition? No problem. $30 trillion for surgery? Why the hell not?
