How are people in Aus reacting to this, anyone know? - I would have thought there would be a LOT of very vocal pushback.
Quoting: Johnny Be Good When polled, over 57% of Australians have stated they will not accept mandatory vaccinations. These aren't rabid anti-vaxxers either, just folks who are wary of being force-injected by an unknown substance rushed into production without proper testing. The Australian Prime Minister has since "rolled back" his comments, saying he can't force people to take the vaccination. There have been no announcements, but what he will do however is make it difficult to shop or socialise without proof of the vaccination - or at least that is a threat they will use. The same dude threatened Australians that if they didn't accept the government's contact tracing app they wouldn't lift the lockdowns. In that case, most people just ignored the demand and went about their daily lives. The lockdowns were lifted soon enough and the contact tracing app has proven to be a 100 million dollar dud. The Australian government is very authoritarian in nature but most Aussies just smile and nod then do their own thing anyway. It's the way it's always been.
